Walibi Rhône-Alpes is a French theme park, the largest theme park in the Rhône-Alpes region, containing more than 33 rides and covering an area of 35 hectares.

This beautiful theme park features three themed areas (Festival City, Exotic Island and Explorer Adventure) each with a headline roller coaster (Mystic, MAHUKA and Timber). We were fortunate be able to experience all three headline roller coasters during the day, and again in the dark at night.

Following an ambitious 10-year investment programme, in 2024 Walibi Rhône-Alpes celebrates the 45th anniversary of Avenir Land (the park's original name) with the opening of Europe's first single-rail roller coaster, MAHUKA.

Parque Warner Madrid is one of the most popular theme parks in Europe, with an array of rides and attractions themed to Warner Bros. movies.

The impressive theme park has a whole themed area dedicated to DC Super Heroes, including experiences based on iconic comic-book characters such as Batman and Superman.

With the recent addition of their new roller coaster Batman: Gotham City Escape, and a return of the Aquaman Nighttime Spectacular, we went on an action-packed adventure at the park.

Puy du Fou España takes its visitors on an epic journey through the history of Spain, with dramatic shows featuring special effects, stunts, extraordinary sets and authentic period villages.

The open-air night-time show El Sueño de Toledo carries its audience across 1,500 years of Spanish history in a 80-minute production on a 5-hectare stage.

On the outskirts of Toledo, an hour from Madrid, Puy du Fou España opened in 2021. We visited the impressive theme park for the first time in 2024, to experience everything that it had to offer, and see how it compared to the original Puy du Fou.

We were invited to discover the Land of Eternal Youth at Ireland's only theme park, Emerald Park.

The new €22 million themed world is home to Europe’s longest intertwining family and thrill coasters, Na Fianna Force and The Quest.

Nigloland is a popular theme park in France, located in Dolancourt, part of the Champagne region Aube.

Voltron Nevera is part of a beautiful new Croatian themed area of the park, where the history and culture of Croatia are now celebrated, and this incredible ride sets a new standard for Europa-Park.

On Friday April 26, 2024 we were invited to attend the press event and unveiling of Sweet Valley, a brand new themed area at Energylandia dedicated to the sweetest of treats!

Sweet Valley boasts two new roller coasters, Choco Chip Creek and Honey Harbour, and eight other rides and attractions all tailored to younger guests.

The new 4-hectare land also has no fewer than 10 food and beverage stands selling a variety of different sweet treats, plus a gift shop.

On June 16 2023 we attended the official inauguration of Uncharted at PortAventura World, giving us exclusive access to the attraction before opening to the public on June 17.

A world class attraction and the perfect addition to PortAventura World’s already impressive lineup, Uncharted: The Enigma of Penitence is an exceptional dark ride and a complete reimagination of what a spinning coaster can do, executed brilliantly in a fun and thrilling experience.

This review will contain spoilers, so if you are looking to visit and would like to experience the ride with no prior knowledge, this perhaps won’t be for you.

We were invited to Parc Astérix for the official inauguration of a new themed area, Festival Toutatis, including the tallest and fastest roller coaster in France.

The new area is dedicated to the God of the Gauls, and covers 3 hectares within the park. Festival Toutatis is the result of the largest investment ever made by Parc Astérix, a whopping €36 million.

Toutatis is a world-class roller coaster that puts Parc Astérix on the global map for thrill seekers. It has transformed the park from a national to an international destination.

It's the Grand Finale of the 30th Anniversary celebrations at Disneyland Paris during 2023, and thanks to our friends at AttractionTickets.com we went to experience it for the first time.

The festivities include eye-catching decorations, daytime entertainment, nighttime spectaculars, the return of an iconic attraction, and special culinary and shopping offerings across the resort.

Until September 30th 2023, guests can continue to enjoy the Grand Finale of the 30th Anniversary at Disneyland Paris.

We were invited to the VIP opening event for Champi'Folies, the new €3m interactive dark ride at French theme park Le PAL.

Champi'Folies is the first ever Smash & Reload interactive media-based dark ride, by BoldMove Nation and Triotech. In this compact new attraction, riders are tasked with saving a city from being invaded by creatures called Mushies, using the new TooMush IP created by Polymorph.

The two-day media event included a behind the scenes tour, exclusive ride time and an overnight stay at the stunning hotel, Le PAL Savana RESERVE.

Gröna Lund is a densely packed theme park on the edge of Djurgården Island in Stockholm. The park has a variety of thrill rides and family attractions, and welcomes around 1.7 million visitors every year.

Monster is the largest ever investment at the park, at a total cost of 450 million Swedish Krona (€44 million). It is 111.5 ft tall, reaches a top speed of 55.9 mph and features three inversions; two Zero-G Rolls and a Corkscrew.

We were delighted to be invited to visit the park and experience the new ride for the first time, and took the opportunity to check out Wildfire at nearby Kolmården the following day.

The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland, a new Xtreme Spinning Coaster at Plopsaland De Panne, has been voted the best new roller coaster in Europe.

With the return of the Tomorrowland music festival in 2022, after having to take two years off, this was the perfect time for us to head back to Belgium.

The €20.5 million roller coaster, from the German manufacturer Mack Rides, is the first of its kind in Europe.

Mirabilandia celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2022, so we made a visit to the popular Italian theme park including its newest addition, Ducati World.

Ducati World is the world’s first themed area to be inspired by a motorcycle brand and located in a theme park.

Mirabilandia is located in the Emilia-Romagna region, where Ducati was born, and is the second-largest theme park in Italy as well as the second-most visited park in the Parques Reunidos chain.

For the first time, Movieland invited everyone to celebrate diversity with an LGBTQ+ event at 'The Hollywood Park' in Italy.

Movieland was completely transformed with rainbow decorations, a colourful parade, live performances, DJ sets, rides and attractions open until late, and a special finale show with fireworks to light up the sky.

We went along to the event on May 21, and had a great time at the first ever pride at a theme park in Italy.

Jumanji - The Adventure, the world’s first fully themed Jumanji ride based on Sony Pictures’ popular film franchise, is now open at Gardaland.

Our latest visit to the Gardaland Resort in Italy included Gardaland Park, the LEGOLAND® Water Park and the SEA LIFE Aquarium.

With the recent opening of THE LEGO® MOVIE™ World, the first and only one in Europe, we went to visit the home of LEGO in Denmark.

For more than 70 years the iconic LEGO brick has inspired generations of children and adults, and visiting the place that it all began is an essential trip for fans from across the world.

We spent three days in Billund, staying at the LEGOLAND Castle Hotel, and visiting the LEGOLAND Billund theme park and the LEGO House attraction.

Fårup Sommerland invited us to the opening of Denmark’s newest, largest and fastest roller coaster, with a stay at Hotel Fårup and time to experience the rest of the park.

Fønix (Phoenix) is 40 metres tall, it reaches a top speed of 95 km/h, features the world’s first 'stall loop' element, and has more airtime than any other ride in Scandinavia. An investment of almost DKK 100 million (€13 million) has been made in the attraction, which comes from Dutch company Vekoma.

Rulantica at Europa-Park recently celebrated its second anniversary, and with more to discover at this water world than ever before, we went to experience everything it has to offer.

With recent additions including Germany's largest outdoor water playground, Svalgurok, and the innovative Snorri Snorkling VR attraction, there has never been a better time to visit Rulantica.

We stayed at the museum-themed 4* hotel Krønasår, connected to Rulantica.

In the midst of beautiful vineyards, forests and orchards lies Germany‘s first theme park, Tripsdrill.

The addition of two new Vekoma roller coasters, Family Boomerang Coaster Volldampf (Full Steam Ahead) and Suspended Thrill Coaster Hals-über-Kopf (Head Over Heels), provided us with a perfect reason to make our first visit.

As well as visiting the theme park and adjacent wildlife park, we stayed in a delightful treehouse at the nature resort. 

Holiday Park celebrated its 50th anniversary with the opening of Wickieland, a new €12 million themed area based on the Studio 100 character Vicky the Viking.

New rides and attractions include The Big Wave and Splash Battle alongside a rethemed log flume and a new restaurant and shop.

We visited to check out all the new additions and experience everything else this popular family theme park has to offer.

LEGOLAND Windsor Resort invited us to an exclusive preview event for LEGO MYTHICA: World of Mythical Creatures.

LEGO MYTHICA is home to the UK’s first ever flying theatre ride, Flight of the Sky Lion, but there's much more to discover in this spectacular new land. Our ten-year-old LEGO superfan was excited to be one of the first to experience the new rides and attractions.

Puy du Fou is an incredible theme park in France, immersing its visitors in history in the most sensational ways imaginable.

Futuroscope recently invited us to experience their €20 million attraction Objectif Mars, known as Destination Mars in English, a new double launch spinning roller coaster by Intamin.

The park is located near Poitiers in France, set in a futuristic landscape, a different kind of theme park experience with an array of technology based attractions including 3D, 4D, 4K and IMAX experiences, motion simulators, projection domes and a flying theatre.

Parc Astérix is one of the fastest-growing theme parks in Europe, with a 7% increase year-on-year to 2.3 million visitors in 2019. This impressive growth, fuelled by an extended 30th anniversary season, pushed them up four places from 14th to 10th most-visited theme park in Europe.

In 2020 the park has opened Les Quais de Lutèce, their most ambitious hotel yet and the first 4-star hotel at Parc Astérix. A visually arresting masterpiece that transports guests to the Roman city of Lutèce, the predecessor of Paris.

On the 22nd August 2019 we were invited to Energylandia in Poland for the opening of new RMC hybrid roller coaster Zadra.

Zadra (the Polish word for splinter) features a 90° first drop and 3 inversions including a Zero-G Stall.

The new coaster is 63.8 metres (209.3 ft) tall, 1316 metres (4318 ft) long and reaches a top speed of 121 km/h (75.2 mph) making it the world's tallest and fastest hybrid coaster. 

1st July 2019 saw the grand opening of Untamed, Europe’s first hybrid roller coaster. We were invited along to Walibi Holland for the exclusive VIP event.

This sensational new ride by RMC uses steel IBox track built on top of the skeleton and many of the original supports from previous wooden coaster Robin Hood.

With an investment of €12.5 million in newly themed area Wilderness and the new ride Untamed, it's never been a better time to visit Walibi Holland.

Phantasialand is a popular theme park near Cologne in Germany that offers fun and adventure for everyone with its unique rides, attractions and shows.

New for 2019, the Temple of the Night Hawk indoor roller coaster has been transformed into the virtual reality experience Crazy Bats.

We were given a sneak peek inside the attraction before it opened.

Toverland in the Netherlands has invested 35 million euros in a 7 hectare expansion, becoming one-and-a-half times bigger and adding two themed areas, Port Laguna and Avalon.

New attractions include wing coaster Fēnix, boat ride Merlin’s Quest and interactive experience Magiezijn.

We visited the park to check out all the additions.

Fury, one of the most anticipated new roller coasters in Europe, is now open at Bobbejaanland in Belgium. We were invited to the opening ceremony for a battle of the elements in the new Land of Legends.

Land of Legends has four attractions that represent the elements of nature; earth, water, air and fire.

The innovative new triple-launch roller coaster Fury allows riders to vote on whether to experience the ride forwards or backwards.

Linnanmäki is a theme park in Helsinki, the capital of Finland, and it is the most popular in the country. It includes more than 40 rides and attractions.

New for 2019, their largest roller coaster project ever, Taiga.

We were invited to a media event that began with a press conference hosted by Pia Adlivankin, managing director of the theme park, and Tobias Jeck from ride manufacturer Intamin.

Walibi Belgium is a theme park located in Wavre, near Brussels. It was once part of the Six Flags chain, and consequently it has a great range of thrilling rides as well as many family attractions.

New for 2019, Popcorn Revenge is the world's first Erratic Ride by Alterface.

We were invited for 3 days of fun and behind the scenes experiences, which started with an evening in Brussels, followed by a day dedicated to the new attraction, and then another to explore the rest of the park.

Heide Park is Northern Germany's largest theme park with more than 40 attractions and shows, and this year the impressive wooden roller coaster Colossos has re-opened with a Kampf der Giganten (Battle of the Giants) makeover.

We went along to witness the fight between wood and fire on one of Europe's tallest and fastest wooden coasters, then check out the other highlights including Ghostbusters 5DFlug der Dämonen and KRAKE.

For the 2019 season Hansa-Park in Germany has introduced Highlander, the highest and fastest Gyro Drop Tower in the world.

Highlander is also the tallest freestanding tower drop ride in the world, and with seats that tilt forwards by 30° riders are provided with a terrifying 'face down' descent.

We were invited to an extravagant launch event on 26th April 2019 for the opening ceremony and a wonderful celebration.

We were invited to the launch of the Haunted House Monster Party, a fang-tastic new ride at LEGOLAND Windsor in 2019.

It is a unique family theme park where children aged 2 -12 can take to the road, soar through the skies and sail the seas in complete safety. It has over 55 interactive rides, attractions, live shows, building workshops and driving schools, not to mention a staggering 80 million LEGO bricks, all set in 150 acres of beautiful parkland.

PortAventura has invested 15 million Euros in the brand new Street Mission interactive 3D dark ride based on Sesame Street, and we were invited to the media event to be one of the first to experience it.

As the most visited theme park in Spain, and one of the best in Europe, the resort is continually developing and expanding. It was only 2 years ago that we were there for the launch of Ferrari Land.

Parque de Atracciones Madrid celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2019 so we visited the amusement park and the neighbouring Zoo Aquarium de Madrid.

Both attractions are located inside the leafy Casa de Campo in Madrid, and are within easy walking distance of each other. 

Combining them provides a selection of thrills and an opportunity to get up close to some remarkable animals.

Parque Warner Madrid is one of the most popular theme parks in Europe, with unique rides and attractions themed to blockbuster movies.

During the weekends of March and April, the most heroic season of the year returns: Mes de los Superhéroes.

We went to check out everything that it has to offer, and experience all of the rides, attractions and shows.

To celebrate the Christmas season Tivoli Gardens is transformed with more than a million lights, a spectacular covering of 'snow' and an array of stalls with tasty treats and gifts.

As the fifth most visited theme park in Europe, welcoming over 4.6 million people a year, Tivoli Gardens is the jewel of Copenhagen in Denmark.

We visited this winter wonderland to enjoy all the top attractions, the new thrill ride Tik Tak, and the festive additions.

After successfully launching the award-winning roller coaster Helix in 2014, this year Liseberg unleashes Valkyria.

We were invited to a press event on 7th August 2018 to be one of the first to experience the new ride and enjoy the rest of the theme park. 

Liseberg is open 11am - 11pm most days in the summer, with a whole 12 hours of thrills. We had an amazing time, so here is our review of Valkyria plus everything else.

Energylandia is rapidly growing theme park near the town of Zator, less than half an hour drive from Kraków in Poland, which this year premieres Europe's second tallest and fastest roller coaster.

We were invited to the launch event for Hyperion on 14th July to experience the new ride before its public opening, check out all the other attractions at the park and enjoy the Beach Party & Magic Night event.

Poland's very first theme park opened in 1959 as Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko (Silesian Amusement Park) but came under new ownership in 2015 then was renamed and relaunched as Legendia last year.

Thanks to innovative new attractions such as Lech Coaster and Bazyliszek, visitor numbers are growing fast.

We were guided around the theme park by director Paweł Cebula, who was incredibly passionate about the ongoing €28m transformation.

Just a few miles from the better known Gardaland in Italy is a theme park like no other, with a remarkable collection of rides and attractions inspired by the studios of Hollywood.

We visited Movieland to check out their latest addition Pangea, the first ride of its kind in the world, and all the other highlights.

Gardaland in Italy is one of the most visited theme parks in Europe, and this year it is offering new experiences over a 218 day season.

We were invited to spend a day exploring the superb 200,000 m2 theme park including dive coaster Oblivion: The Black Hole and wing coaster Raptor, the new San Andreas 4-D Experience, a refurbished dark ride I Corsari, and other new additions such as Peppa Pig Land.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach was founded in 1896, after 122 years it deserved something iconic to mark the occasion.

ICON is the first roller coaster in the UK to feature a double launch and is their largest ever single investment at a cost of £16.25 million.

The historic theme park invited us to the press and media launch on 23rd May before a public opening on 25th May.

The world’s first Peppa Pig theme park attraction, Peppa Pig World, is now bigger and better, and Paultons Park invited us to the grand preview event.

Fans of the TV series will be snorting with delight when the expansion with 2 new rides, The Queen’s Flying Coach Ride and Grampy Rabbit’s Sailing Club, is available to the public from Wednesday 16th May 2018.

Since 1996, Movie Park Germany has offered millions of visitors an array of rides, attractions and shows based on the worlds of film and television. This year the popular Mystery River water ride re-opens as Excalibur - Secrets of the Dark Forest.

We were invited to the press preview on May 4th, to be one of the first to see the transformation of the ride and experience all of the other attractions and shows at the studio-themed park.

Chessington World of Adventures invited us to the launch of Tiger Rock on 28th April, a water ride set within the multi-million pound Land of the Tiger, featuring an innovative enclosure and Europe’s first overhead trails.

The new attraction is home to four endangered Amur tigers, so we were excited about meeting the 'roar-some foursome' (Kalinka, Kyra, Olga and Tsar) as well as riding the log flume.

The Walking Dead: The Ride is the world’s first roller coaster themed around the global TV phenomenon and Thorpe Park invited us along to the launch event on 29th March.

It is a complete transformation of the former roller coaster X with all new theming and effects throughout, including a pre-show, walkthrough and live actors.
