We were invited to discover the Land of Eternal Youth at Ireland's only theme park, Emerald Park.

The new €22 million themed world is home to Europe’s longest intertwining family and thrill coasters, Na Fianna Force and The Quest.

In addition to the fantastic new roller coasters, this 6.5 acre Celtic-themed Tír na nÓg area also includes the Celtic Dreamer 'wave swinger' ride.

Visitors embark to a world of mythical adventures, where nothing is quite as it seems, discovering ancient ruins and secret passages.

Upon arrival, we encountered various costumed characters, who welcomed us to the new land and entertained the invited guests.

Na Fianna Force

This perfectly smooth but forceful new roller coaster is partially based on Hals-über-Kopf at Tripsdrill in Germany, but with a completely redesigned second half, the ride deliver even greater thrills.

Ride facts:

  • Vekoma Suspended Thrill Coaster
  • 3 inversions
  • Track length of 750m
  • Highest track point of 32m
  • Top speed of 90km/h
  • Minimum height to ride 1.2m

The Quest

Perfect for families looking for an exciting roller coaster experience, but something not as intense as Na Fianna Force, this very enjoyable ride navigates the track both forwards and backwards!

Ride facts:

  • Vekoma Family Boomerang Coaster
  • Track length of 450m
  • Highest track point of 25m
  • Top speed of 60km/h
  • Minimum height ride ride 0.95m accompanied by an adult, 1.2m unaccompanied by an adult.

Celtic Dreamer

This classic attraction is a welcome addition to the Emerald Park line-up. It's nicely decorated and it compliments the two roller coasters well, offering lovely views of the new themed area.

Ride facts:

  • Zierer Wave Swinger
  • Highest point 12.6m
  • Distance travelled 1km
  • Top speed of 36km/h
  • Minimum height to ride 1m accompanied by an adult, 1.2m unaccompanied by an adult.

The new themed land also includes the Na Fianna Force Gift Shop and Tower Cafe, with two more food & beverage outlets coming soon, Warrior Kitchen and Castle Cones.

The range and quality of Tír na nÓg, Na Fianna Force and The Quest themed merchandise is really impressive.

Emerald Park has worked with Jora Vision on the theming of the new land, which sets a new standard for the park. When it's complete, it will be the most immersive area at the park, and what is already in place has been beautifully done.

We were particularly pleased to see the themed indoor queue for Na Fianna Force, which introduces a significant element of storytelling through video projection and audio.

Tír na nÓg is an extremely impressive addition to Emerald Park that's sure to attract visitors from across Ireland and beyond.

Emerald Park is located just 30 minutes from Dublin, so it's an easy day out option when visiting the city. It has a variety of rides and attractions for thrill seekers and families.

Other highlights at the park include the Cú Chulainn CoasterViking Voyage water flume, and the family coasters Dino Dash and Flight School.

Congratulations to Emerald Park, Vekoma, Zierer and Jora Vision on delivering this ambitious project, which has taken seven years to complete, and was started by the later founder of the park Raymond Coyle.
