Efteling – the fairytale theme park in the Netherlands – has once again transformed into a sparkling winter wonderland for families with Winter Efteling.
The seasonal event, now in its 27th year, will run until 1 February 2026 and promises a blend of festive charm, atmospheric entertainment and classic enchantment.
Across the park, rooftops will be dusted with snow, lanterns will glow, and crackling campfires will warm guests throughout the day. Then, as evening falls, the famous Aquanura water show will provide a spectacular finale to a winter day at Efteling.

New Winter Entertainment
For the 27th time, Efteling will be transformed into a place full of winter magic, fairy tales, thrill, and adventure. Visitors can admire the 9-metre-high Wonder Winter Tree, sparkling with lights, located this year at the Warme Winter Weide. The fairies from Droomvlucht will once again appear on musical music boxes at Ton van de Venplein.
There is new entertainment on the Anton Pieckplein in the form of a Carolling Carousel, and a brand new show ‘Evening with Wolf’ is playing in the open-air theatre in the Fairytale Forest. Also debuting are the Anderberger Liederfestival near Max & Moritz and The Man with the Magic Lantern, who brings images to life in a wondrous way at the Carrousel Theatre.
The Warme Winter Weide winter garden, with ice skating and food & beverage offerings, features daily live entertainment, including appearances by Pardoes the magic Jester and Princess Pardijn.
Fairytale: The Princess and the Pea
It is the first Winter Efteling for Efteling’s newest fairytale: The Princess and the Pea. Since May 2025, Princess Adinda has been trying to sleep atop a tall pile of mattresses and one tiny pea. Now, for the first time, a sung narration is heard in the Fairytale Forest, voiced by Belgian singer Geike Arnaert. This scene has also received a wintery touch.
Efteling Grand Hotel
This winter also marks the first Winter Efteling for the recently opened Efteling Grand Hotel. Located in the heart of the park, it’s a luxurious new residence where guests of all ages can experience the enchanting atmosphere of a grand hotel. The 140 rooms and suites come in four colour themes, offering views of the Fairytale Forest, Aquanura, House of the Five Senses (the entrance building) or the Pardoes Promenade. Brasserie 7, Restaurant-Bar Mystique, a cozy coffee bar, and the large souvenir shop Arcadeau are accessible to both hotel and park guests.
