Walibi Belgium will re-open to visitors on July 1, with new social distancing measures in place.

The park was due to open for the 2020 season on April 5, but has remained closed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Walibi Belgium is located in Wavre, near Brussels. Popular rides include the Pulsar power splash coaster and Werewolf wooden coaster.

This Wednesday, the National Security Council gave the green light for the re-opening of Belgian theme parks and swimming pools from July 1. With a delay of a few weeks, the country is following the example of neighbouring countries where recreation parks have resumed their activities since the end of May.

Jean-Christophe Parent, CEO of Walibi Belgium:

“We can count on years of expertise in which the safety of our visitors has always been central. That is no different now. The interpretation of this safety is now being expanded. Keeping sufficient distance and extra hygiene measures are also becoming the norm in our parks."
