Futuroscope in France will re-open on June 13, including the debut of their new roller coaster, Objectif Mars.

Although closed to visitors since March 15 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Futuroscope staff have been busy preparing the sanitary and logistical arrangements for re-opening the park.

The park will be open on the weekends of June 13-14 and June 20-21, then daily from June 27.

Rodolphe Bouin, Chairman of the Executive Board of Futuroscope:

"We have opted for a gradual reopening, by limiting the number of visitors on departure. It will be a second start to the season, marked by the launch of our new big attraction Objectif Mars."

The park will be accessible at first, only by reservation, via its website futuroscope.com

Various measures on-site include floor markings, increased frequency of cleaning and disinfection and installation of 200 hydroalcoholic gel distribution points.

Futuroscope is also implementing a virtual queue application for six major attractions which will allow visitors to book a slot.

Wearing a mask will be recommended for visitors throughout the park and mandatory in certain areas. Clear signage will guide visitors where masks must be worn.

For restaurants with a reduced capacity, reservations will be required.

Objectif Mars

Also on June 13, Futuroscope will open the new attraction Objectif Mars, the first roller coaster in its history and the biggest investment made since the creation of the park (20 million euros).

This family-friendly ride will immerse visitors in the heart of a space training centre that will allow them to put themselves in the shoes of an astronaut and measure their ability to go on a mission to the red planet.
