Slagharen officially welcomed guests to its newest attraction, Sky Sifter, on Friday, April 17, 2026.

The 30-metre-high pendulum ride brings a novel 'choose your thrill' concept to the family theme park, allowing guests to tailor their adventure to their own bravery levels.

Developed by Italian manufacturer Zamperla, Sky Sifter is the first Discovery Revolution 30 model in the region to offer a programmable dual-experience.

A First for the Region: Gold vs. Silver

The defining feature of Sky Sifter is the split experience, managed through two distinct, immersive queue lines. This 'dual-experience' approach is a rarity for flat rides of this scale in Europe, ensuring the attraction appeals to a wide demographic:

  • The Golden Route: For thrillseekers, this mode unlocks the ride’s full potential with 360-degree inversions. Riders are swung completely upside down at a height of 30 metres.
  • The Silver Route: For those seeking a spectacular view without the inversion, this Swinging Mode focuses on speed and panoramic views, remaining upright throughout the cycle.

Steampunk Storytelling

Slagharen has worked closely with the Leisure Expert Group to ensure Sky Sifter is more than just a mechanical thrill. The attraction is themed around a legendary 'sifting machine' built by a local sheriff during the Gold Rush. The queue lines act as a walkthrough museum of the sheriff's failed inventions, with the dual-path system fully integrated into the story.

"Sky Sifter represents our commitment to innovation and storytelling. By offering two distinct ways to ride, we ensure that every visitor—from the bravest adventurer to families looking for a shared memory—can enjoy this spectacular new addition."
— Sander de Haas, General Manager of Slagharen

With its towering 30-metre frame and iconic 'sifting' motion, Sky Sifter has already transformed the park’s skyline. It is now open daily as part of Slagharen’s regular attraction lineup.
