In 2025, Fraispertuis-City, a charming French family theme park, will unveil a new attraction that evokes the excitement of an extraordinary steam sawmill.

Sawmill, a NebulaZ ride by Zamperla, will join the park's impressive lineup of family attractions, expanding the area around the popular wooden roller coaster, Timber Drop.

The attraction will pay homage to the hard-working lumberjacks of the wild west, who relied on their axes and sawmills to transform raw timber into usable wood. Sawmill brings this historical scene to life with elaborate theming and attention to detail, immersing visitors in an authentic frontier experience.

At the center of the attraction are eight synchronized saw blades that spin with the precision of clockwork, mimicking the process of cutting timber. These blades will form the ride’s heart, offering a thrilling adventure as riders are seated between them. The energy that powers the blades will appear to come from a steam engine, which perfectly complements the wild west theme and adds to the immersive atmosphere of the ride.

The Sawmill attraction will be located in the park's lush forest area, a setting that enhances the ride’s natural, rustic charm. The 10-metre-high ride will be capable of hosting 32 guests per trip, with a minimum height requirement of 1.00 m when accompanied by an adult or 1.20 m for solo riders. The investment for this exciting new addition is estimated at 1.5 million euros, underlining Fraispertuis-City’s commitment to expanding and enhancing the park experience for visitors of all ages.

This new ride marks a milestone in the long-standing partnership between Fraispertuis-City and Italian ride manufacturer Zamperla, which dates back to both companies’ founding in 1966. The collaboration has previously led to many successful attractions such as Roue Panoramique (1995), Cavalerie (2005), and Santy Anno (2015).

As the grand opening of Sawmill approaches, excitement is building at Fraispertuis-City. This dynamic and thematically rich attraction is set to be one of the highlights of the park’s 2025 season, offering both adventure and a unique glimpse into the wild west.
