Emerald Park has announced a major expansion with the introduction of a new themed land, Lost Valley: Land of Dinosaurs, set to open in summer 2026.

The project, supported by a €3 million investment, will transform an existing area of the Irish theme park into an immersive prehistoric world.

Located just 20 minutes outside of Dublin in Ashbourne, Co. Meath, their new themed area will blend established favourites with brand-new attractions and interactive experiences.

New Family Attraction And Reimagined Favourites

At the heart of the expansion is a brand-new family-friendly 'Wild Swing' ride from ART Engineering. Standing 12 metres tall, the attraction features a unique gondola design with 16 seats, providing a gentle yet exhilarating experience for both thrill-seekers and younger explorers. The official name of the new ride is expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The existing Dino Dash roller coaster will remain a central feature of the land, though it will be integrated into a completely reimagined environment. Guests can expect detailed prehistoric theming, realistic decor, and roaring soundscapes designed to transport visitors back millions of years.

Interactive Dinosaur Encounters

The new Land of Dinosaurs will feature a variety of realistic life-sized dinosaurs reaching up to 6 metres in length. The prehistoric inhabitants will include:

  • A fearsome Tyrannosaurus Rex
  • Swift and agile Velociraptors
  • Baby Triceratops

Visitors will be able to get close to the creatures through scheduled Dino Meet & Greet experiences, adding a layer of interactive entertainment to the park's offering.

Enhanced Visitor Experience

Beyond the rides and attractions, the area will be supported by new themed food and beverage options.

Charles Coyle, Managing Director of Emerald Park, stated that the addition of the new family ride and interactive moments ensures there is plenty for both returning visitors and first-time explorers to enjoy.

An official opening date for the new land is scheduled to be announced next month. This development marks the latest major investment for Emerald Park, which is already home to over 40 rides and a zoo featuring more than 250 animals.
