The winners of the UK Theme Park Awards 2020 will be announced on September 20.
For the very first time, the public were invited to vote for their favourite theme parks in national awards recognising the best rides and attractions, shows and events, as well as the theme parks offering the best customer service, value and accessibility. The public votes have now been combined with those of Expert Judges to determine the winners in each category.

Rookburgh, the new themed world at Phantasialand - including the world’s first flying launch coaster, FLY - is now in soft opening.
During this phase, there may be short-term temporary closures of the entire themed world, individual experiences and limited flight times for FLY.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only a limited number of guests can currently visit Rookburgh, so there may be waiting times at the entrance.

LaLiga and PortAventura World in Spain have announced a €150 million project to create a new theme park, attraction, restaurant, shop and app.
The project will be structured in three phases. The first, composed of an investment of €10 million, covers the app and a themed restaurant within the resort ready during the 2021/22 football season. The second phase will include a new LaLiga-themed attraction and an investment of €40 million. The final phase will be to create a LaLiga theme park within PortAventura World with an investment of €100 million.

This year, the new horror house The Curse of Chupacabra and new interactive laser walkthrough Secrets of St. Elmo, will lure visitors into new dark worlds.
