The popular dark ride Pirates in Batavia reopened today at Europa-Park.

At the end of May 2018, Pirates in Batavia was destroyed in a fire at the park. Europa-Park made the decision to rebuild the attraction, taking the opportunity to update it with new technology and story enhancements.

In addition to over 100 new animatronics, 8 'survivors' of the original ride feature in a 'survivors boat' after being restored.

Accompany Bartholomeus van Robbemond on his search for the mystical Dagger of Batavia, the Fire Tiger. Legend has it that whoever owns the dagger of Batavia is invulnerable. No wonder then that not only van Robbemond is after the dagger.

Prepare yourself for a new exciting underground boat ride experience, which closely resembles its original design from 1987. For eight minutes, you will be taken through the exotic harbour city of Batavia with outlandish sounds, unforgettable scenes, and 125 figures.

Amongst the many new pirates, monkeys, crocodiles, snakes and more that were made with modern technology, you will also find figures of the original attraction.
