Futuroscope has announced that their new roller coaster, Objectif Mars, is due to open at the theme park on March 28, 2020.

This unique launch coaster will send riders hurtling through a new space-training centre. Find out if you have what it takes to go on a space mission, as you face solar eruptions and electromagnetic fields at speeds of up to 35 mph (55 km/h), indoors and outdoors.

The new €20 million attraction promises visitors an immersive experience with special effects including indoor fire.

260 days of travel. 34 million miles. Zero gravity. After 60 years of epic scientific and technological adventures, the Futuroscope space-training centre is now recruiting the next generation of astronauts for the first manned mission to explore the Red Planet. Young trainees will have their ability to endure extreme environments put to the test and have to prove they can make the grade to join Mission 2040. Will they be up to it? And who will be selected?

Futuroscope is a different kind of theme park experience, with an array of technology based attractions including 3D, 4D, 4K and IMAX experiences, motion simulators, projection domes and a flying theatre.

The park is located near Poitiers, set in an impressive technology park with a variety of restaurants, shops and shows as well as the main rides and attractions.
