New for 2018 at Bobbejaanland in Belgium the suspended roller coaster Dreamcatcher will provide a Virtual Reality experience for the first time.
The ride opened in 1987 as Air Race and became Dreamcatcher in 2006 with the addition of new floorless trains and theming.
Now after 12 years Bobbejaanland are once again reinventing the attraction for a new generation of thrill seekers.
Dreamcatcher is the oldest operating roller coaster in the theme park and as Air Race offered visitors a flying lesson in a brightly coloured aircraft. It was designed and built by Vekoma, as the first suspended roller coaster in Europe.
In 2006, almost 20 years later, it was renamed Dreamcatcher and themed to the Wild West where the eagle is considered a sacred symbol by the American Indians. The addition of Virtual Reality will not mean a change in theme, but instead a more immersive version of it.
The suspended trains leave your feet dangling free as you are sent soaring 24 meters above the ground and fly above the water for 600 meters. By wearing Virtual Reality glasses you will be able to imagine yourself as a courageous eagle that defies the greatest storms in mysterious landscapes.
