Parques Reunidos has acquired Belantis, the theme park located in Leipzig, Germany.
Germany is a strategic market for Parques Reunidos. This acquisition strengthens the group’s strategy and reinforces its market positioning in Germany, where the group already owns Movie Park Germany, one of the leading parks in the country.
The acquisition includes 27 ha. of nearby land for the expansion of the park.
Belantis is a leading park in central Germany that enjoys a unique location in the city of Leipzig (population of c. 600.000 inhabitants), easily accessible from Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. The park has 8 different themed areas with 70 attractions, 13 restaurants and 2 souvenir shops. Additionally, the park offers a broad event programming, including themed parties, music events and firework shows.
Parques Reunidos expertise will drive performance improvements in the coming years, by bringing in its best management practices to improve park operations and widening the park’s offering. Belantis offers potential to grow towards a flagship park in Germany, with regional reach for cities such as Prague, Berlin, Leipzig and Dresden.
