Familypark in Austria invites visitors to go on a galactic star voyage in 2021 with the debut of their new family thrill ride Stellarium.

The newly developed ride from the Italian manufacturer Zamperla is unique in Austria.

Walibi Rhône-Alpes - another theme park operated by Compagnie des Alpes - was the first in Europe to open this type of ride with the addition of AirBoat last year.

French designer Fabien Renoux has themed the ride to look like a device constructed by an astronomer of the Middle Ages in order to embark on a journey into the galaxy.

Eight gondolas on four arms enable 32 people to ride the Stellarium. The special feature of this family thrill ride, however, are the quickly interlocking tracks on which the four arms rotate. The gondolas at the end of the arms always stay upright, and the riders experience a brief moment of weightlessness when they cross the highest point. The hypnotic movement is like a visual puzzle and is fascinating not only for the passengers but also for the spectators.
