Today, Disneyland Paris celebrates its 33rd anniversary! To mark the occasion, the “place where dreams come true” unveiled never-before-seen images and new details about its unprecedented transformation.

The resort’s second park – which will be renamed Disney Adventure World when the new Frozen-themed area opens in 2026 – is undergoing a major expansion and embracing a fresh creative vision. It's set to usher in its next phase on May 15th with the opening of World Premiere, the gateway to the existing and future immersive worlds of the park.

The park will also soon embark on the construction of an all-new family attraction inspired by the Pixar Animation Studios' movie Up, in addition to creating an immersive world themed around Walt Disney Animation Studios’ film The Lion King. It's not yet confirmed when these new attractions will open.

These updates are part of a major transformation plan, which is slowly coming to fruition thanks to a €2 billion investment including the expansion of Walt Disney Studios Park announced back in 2018. By reimagining more than 90% of its opening day offerings and roughly doubling its footprint, the soon-to-be-renamed park will become a truly can’t-miss experience by the end of its expansion journey.

Adventure Way

Featuring themed gardens inspired by Disney Animation’s Tangled and Pixar’s Toy Story, Adventure Way has been dreamed up as a crossroads between the front of the park – which is notably made up of the World Premiere PlazaMarvel Avengers Campus and Worlds of Pixar – and the future immersive areas inspired by Frozen and The Lion King.

Adventure Way will also be home to The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, a stylish restaurant where guests will not only be able to meet Disney Princesses but also watch the breath-taking new night-time spectacular that will light up the Adventure Bay central lake at night.

Up

“Adventure is out there!” – this famous quote from Disney-Pixar’s Up will soon resonate with Disney Adventure World guests as they board a flying carousel that will spin in the air, offering a bird’s-eye view of the park’s stunning scenery. Blending the charm of family attractions with the colourful world of Up, this new experience will mark the first time an attraction inspired by this beloved film is coming to a Disney theme park.

The Lion King

In August 2024, Disneyland Paris announced the construction of the first-ever immersive world entirely dedicated to one of the most beloved Disney Animation films around the world, and especially in Europe – The Lion King. Construction is set to begin in Autumn 2025. When the sun rises on this realm after the grand opening of World of Frozen, an all-new attraction blending a spectacular water experience with state-of-the-art Audio-Animatronics® technology will plunge guests into the heart of the Pride Lands, where Simba will await them for an unforgettable adventure complete with iconic songs from the 1994 masterpiece.

After making their way to the caves beneath the 37-metre-high Pride Rock, guests will embark on a wondrous, touching, and sensational adventure through iconic scenes from the beloved animated movie, navigating a path with three exciting drops, including an impressive 16-metre-high descent. This attraction will be one of the biggest at Disneyland Paris!
