Germany's Baltic coast resort, Hansa-Park, has officially opened its newest family attraction, the Cornwall Coaster.
Welcoming its first guests, the custom-built family launch roller coaster is now anchoring the park’s Beautiful Britain themed area.
Manufactured by renowned German ride designer Gerstlauer Amusement Rides, the new coaster is specifically engineered to bridge the gap between gentle children's rides and the park's massive signature thrill coasters like Kärnan.

Multiple Launches and Multi-Directional Thrills
Cornwall Coaster introduces a highly dynamic layout to Hansa-Park's ride collection, utilising specialised switch tracks to send riders through sections of the course more than once. Key technical specifications of the new ride include:
- Seven Total Launch Moments: The coaster uses a succession of tire-driven launch segments, split between forward and backward accelerations.
- Track Layout: A physical footprint of 570 metres of steel track, though the multi-pass ride mechanics extend the actual experience.
- Ride Stats: The train reaches a top speed of 50 km/h (31 mph) and climbs to a maximum height of 18 metres.
- Accessible Requirements: Designed for family-wide appeal, the ride accommodates young adventurers down to 90 cm in height (accompanied by an adult up to age seven).
The layout also features a striking vertical rollback spike element, which provides a brief moment of weightlessness before sending the train backwards into the landscape.
Immersive Cornish Theming
True to Hansa-Park’s reputation for elaborate storytelling, Cornwall Coaster is heavily integrated into a scenic recreation of the South West England coastline.
The custom-designed train is styled to look exactly like a vintage steam locomotive, which departs from a station building styled like a traditional stone cottage.
As the train navigates the terrain, it sweeps past newly constructed brick bridges, dramatic rockwork, and atmospheric castle ruins.
The entire experience is elevated by a custom-composed musical soundtrack that seamlessly blends into the surrounding area, matching the soundscapes of nearby attractions Nessie and Highlander.
While the ride is open, Hansa-Park management noted that a few final decorative landscaping details will continue to be refined over the course of the main season, with the final styling touches scheduled for completion during the 2026/2027 winter off-season.
