Futuroscope is preparing for its milestone 40th anniversary season, with the French resort now turning its attention to an ambitious future focused on expanded immersive offerings, new entertainment, and major accommodation developments.

Following the recent growth of the destination into Futuroscope Xperiences, which now features two major parks alongside a growing selection of resort hotels, the next two seasons will bring a wide range of new additions, anniversary events, and nostalgic throwbacks.

Rodolphe Bouin, CEO at Futuroscope, highlighted the evolution of the resort:

"This new lineup is part of the momentum established over recent years to turn Futuroscope into a true resort destination, a place where guests come as much for unique experiences as they do to share quality time with family and friends. Now boasting two parks and a comprehensive offering of entertainment, shows, and accommodation options, Futuroscope Xperiences continues its expansion, placing innovation and emotion at the core of its brand identity."

First Night Parade: Nuits Magiques

A major highlight of the 40th celebrations begins on Saturday 5 December 2026, when Futuroscope unveils Nuits Magiques (Magical Nights), the first nightly light parade in the park's history.

Running daily from 5 December 2026 through to Saturday 27 March 2027, the one-kilometre procession features around 20 performers alongside five themed floats. Created in partnership with Tetro Agency, the parade combines art, modern design, and cutting-edge lighting technology with live street performances.

2027 Anniversary Season Lineup

When the 2027 season officially opens on 6 February 2027, guests can look forward to several new and updated experiences across the resort:

  • ATHOS IMAX Film: The Kinemax theatre will premiere a brand-new 40-minute IMAX film dedicated to the Patrouille de France, the French Air Force's aerobatic display team. The experience takes audiences inside the cockpit on one of Europe's largest IMAX screens.
  • Danse avec les Robots Revamp: The park's signature robotic arm thrill ride is updating its soundtrack with a fresh playlist featuring hit songs from the 1980s through to the present day.
  • Festival des Grandes Images: Running during May-June and September-October at the Kinemax, Futuroscope will celebrate its history by screening remastered large-format classics such as Wings of Courage, Grand Canyon, and Van Gogh on rotation alongside ATHOS.
  • Omnimax Restorations: Upgraded with a new laser dome, the Omnimax theatre will host classic titles like Everest, Blue Whales, and Flight of the Butterflies, alternating with T-Rex.

Anniversary festivities will extend across the park throughout the year with a vintage 1987-style upside-down house styled with 80s memorabilia, a new historical outdoor photographic exhibition produced in partnership with INA, and special 40th anniversary menu items, cocktails, and desserts.

Looking Ahead to 2028: Science Fiction Resort Hotel

Futuroscope has also revealed a sneak preview of its next major resort expansion: a brand-new 4-star science fiction themed hotel currently under construction for a 2028 opening.

Olivier Héral, Creative Director at Futuroscope, described the project:

"It's a spectacular, fully immersive hotel conceived as a universe of its own, where architecture, scenic design, and guest services tell a compelling story."

The upcoming resort hotel will feature 240 rooms, including premium and VIP suites, alongside a dedicated restaurant, bar, and exclusive guest spa. Designed to cater to leisure visitors as well as business events, this resort complex includes a new business centre complete with a 200-seat amphitheatre and six breakout rooms. A pedestrian footbridge will connect hotel guests directly into the Aquascope waterpark.
