France's biggest Halloween event is set to run from 3 October to 8 November 2026, promising a bigger, scarier, and more immersive experience than ever before.

Following a record-breaking 2025 season that welcomed 557,500 visitors over 20 days and featured 12 sold-out evening sessions, Parc Astérix is gearing up for the return of Peur sur le Parc.

Building on its status as the country's premier Halloween theme park celebration, this year's edition introduces five major new additions, including an innovative outdoor trail, revamped dining experiences, brand-new shows, and 12 exclusive late-night events running until 1:00 am.

Three Brand-New Terrifying Experiences

1. The Forest of no Return (La Forêt du Sans Retour)

In what is a first for a French theme park, Parc Astérix is launching an entirely new genre of attraction: an open-air haunted trail. Spanning a 250-metre immersive route deep within the forest, The Forest of no Return delivers 10 minutes of pure suspense across roughly ten distinct scenes featuring 15 live actors.

Visitors begin with a false sense of security, equipped with certified guides, safety instructions, and a safety line. However, as the mist rolls in and bearings fade, shadowy silhouettes emerge between the trees, and the distant sounds of a horn echo through the brush. Built around a centuries-old legend of a forest where travellers vanish forever, the experience follows one golden rule for those hoping to find a way out: never turn back. (Please note that the night-time tour of this attraction is exclusively available during the 12 late-night events).

2. The Depths of the Souk (Les Profondeurs du Souk)

Egypt is unlocking its darkest secrets in the heart of The Egyptian Souk. As daylight fades, the Souk transforms into an eerie twilight zone where shifting shadows and wandering actors lurk around every corner.

The lore harks back to 14th-century medieval Cairo, where Emir Jarkas al-Khalili reportedly built a market over the ruins of a sacred necropolis, awakening ancient spirits. Five new characters now roam the alleys: an embalmer surrounded by mummies, a fortune-teller communicating with the dead, the tragic Bride of the Khamsin, a cursed guardian escorted by scorpions, and a wandering former porter.

3. The Horror Buffet Gets a Makeover

For 2026, the legendary Horror Buffet relocates to the brand-new restaurant Les Comptoirs d'Épidemaïs, featuring an entirely redesigned Ancient Egypt theme. Set inside a mysterious, isolated tent, guests will find a newly reawakened curse unfolding throughout their meal.

Dinners will be punctuated by eerie theatrical performances from a lineup of quirky characters, including Taho (a spice merchant speaking an unintelligible language), Dalila (a poison-vial-wielding shaman), Seti (an unpredictable and clumsy fakir), and two shape-shifting serpent beings. The menu features a selection of spicy, Mediterranean-style dishes. Guests can experience the buffet by day without actors for a gourmet family meal, or by night for a fully immersive, thrilling dinner.

Fear Takes Centre Stage: Two New Shows

• The Dance of the Undead (at The Camps of Steel Blades): The dead come alive through dance in this intense new production exploring the dark realm of Brakkor, blending high-energy choreography, music, and atmospheric staging.
• Gladiator Illusionis (at Les Arènes): Blurring the lines between reality and illusion, this brand-new grand-scale magic show plunges audiences into a world of sudden apparitions, striking visual effects, and unexplained phenomena presided over by a cursed gladiator.

Fan-Favourite Classics Return

Alongside the 2026 novelties, the park's legendary horror staples are back:

• The Infernos of Pompeii: A 7-room apocalyptic journey through Vesuvius's 79 AD eruption (Free by day, and €6 for evening visits; not recommended for under-16s).
• The Tombs of the Gods: Nine trials against Egypt's most fearsome deities (Not recommended for under-14s).
• The Catacombs: The notoriously terrifying subterranean labyrinth.
• The Curse of the Sirius: The cursed ship returns with day and night offerings, including two shows (The Dance of the Shipwrecked and The Last Dance of the Sirius), food outlets, and an eerie nightly DJ set.

Visitors can also enjoy the monumental illuminated façade of OzIris and the unmissable Parade of Monsters procession rounding off every day and night.

Family-Friendly Scares

Peur sur le Parc continues to cater to guests of all courage levels using its clear signpost grading system: Little Chills for the cautious, Moderate Scares for the undecided, and Big Terrors for thrill-seekers.

The park's immersive autumn transformation features 14 tonnes of pumpkins and 3,000 corn stalks. Younger visitors can explore Idéfix's Forest and enjoy interactive adventures in the Gaulish Village. Furthermore, Parc Astérix is launching the Trails of the Little Cauldron (€20), an interactive challenge-based activity taking children through the park's shops with sweets and gifts to be won.
