Parc Astérix is pulling out all the stops for its summer season, launching a brand-new night-time spectacular alongside a major overhaul of its popular Egypt zone.

From 11th July until 30th August 2026, visitors to the French theme park can experience a host of new attractions, dining options, and extended opening hours.

Here is everything you need to know about what is coming to Gaul this summer.

Astérix et la Potion d’étoiles: A Next-Generation Night-Time Show

The headline addition for the summer is Astérix et la Potion d’étoiles, an immersive night-time show presented every evening at around 10pm above the park's central lake.

The production transforms the sky into a giant canvas, projecting the iconic world of the comic strip using cutting-edge technology. Famous characters such as Astérix, Obélix, Idéfix, and Panoramix will be brought to life through large-scale aerial animations, blending adventure, humour and poetry faithful to the original spirit of creators Uderzo and Goscinny.

The show represents a significant technological achievement for the park's entertainment team, who collaborated with leading European performance technology partners including Magic Drone, CRYSTAL, and LSE by Laser System Europe.

The scale of the production includes:

  • Over 370 drones mapping out shapes and characters in the sky.
  • A monumental water screen on the lake surface with 60 water jets reaching heights of up to 20 metres.
  • More than 150 projectors and multi-coloured lasers orchestrated via high-precision 3D modelling.
  • 2,500 pyrotechnic effects creating a dramatic daily finale.
  • An immersive soundtrack featuring recognisable nods to the classic Asterix films.

Set Sail for Egypt: Reimagined Family Attractions

The park has completely reimagined its Egypt zone around La Place du Nil, offering enhanced immersive decor and three re-themed experiences where Cleopatra and the Egyptian Gods take centre stage.

  • The Descent of the Nile: Formerly known as the Oxygénarium, this popular water ride has been completely redesigned. It features a brand-new themed queue line, unique set pieces, and a refreshed visual narrative that takes families on a journey down the Nile under the watchful eyes of the Egyptian gods.
  • The Flight of Ibis: The park’s traditional Flying Chairs attraction has been transformed into the Flight of Ibis. Soaring ten metres above the ground, riders will fly over a lush water garden filled with interactive water jets and detailed greenery.
  • Cleopatra’s Gifts: The popular outdoor entertainment returns in a brand-new format on the OzIris Esplanade. The updated show features new staging, music, dance, and high levels of visitor interaction.

New Immersive Dining: Les Comptoirs d’Épidemaïs

Food options within the Egypt zone are also getting an upgrade. The former Restaurant du Cirque has been replaced by Les Comptoirs d’Épidemaïs. Inspired by the legendary Phoenician merchant, this new themed restaurant features an all-you-can-eat couscous buffet, homemade hummus, chicken tagines, and traditional homemade mint tea.
